We ordered and picked up pizzas, which turned out to be a total letdown. We paid € 25 for two pizzas. (one of them was gluten free, which costs about 30% more) It started with the fact that we could not pay cash because there was no change in the till. The prosciutto was topped with the cheapest molded ham with the square slices that come out of the pack. You haven't even bothered to tear it up so that it doesn't stand out. (Even the Indian delivery service can do that better) In my opinion, the tomato sauce consisted of unseasoned strained tomatoes, not even oregano made it onto the pizza and when you bite into it, the cheese had a consistency like biting off a piece of rubber. All attention! For a restaurant that claims to be “high quality Mediterranean cuisine”, it was really underground. Never again!

Food really good, price-performance ratio but not ok. For the quality and that in a small town simply too expensive.

Bottomless cheek what is called salad here. Smallest portion at the most overpriced price ever. Not to be recommended! Maybe it was cool and tasty there once, but definitely not anymore.

Great location, but that's about it. The staff is extremely listless, unfriendly and arrogant. The waiting times are by no means acceptable. (Drinks: 20 minutes, food: 1.5 hours) The quality of the food is not good and some of the portions are tiny. Nothing fresh, just frozen goods. And at exorbitant prices! We gave the restaurant a total of four times. Every time it got worse.

Very nice location, very tasty food, service takes a while but is very nice and friendly! Munich prices in Pfaffenhofen therefore one star deduction.

I would like to rate the service. But unfortunately there was no service. After waiting for dinner with empty glasses for 1 hour, we left the restaurant. But maybe table 213 is just self-service ...

Very inattentive service from senior staff - Food was nice but the service was unprofessional and slow. First we were told we couldn’t reserve a seat outside but could just go there and then pick a free table. When we arrived we were told outside tables were all reserved, even though there were 6-7 free tables seating 4-6. We then found out they were kept free for larger groups (we were 3 ppl) which is fine but could have just been explained that way when we reserved over the phone. We then didn’t get our orders for over 2 hours. That wd be fine if it was the same for everyone but whenever we asked, our waitress kept telling us that the kitchen staff were overwhelmed - except she never went to follow up on our orders and when we finally got another kind staff member to check we found out they had forgotten our orders. We had figured as much, because by then all other tables seated after us had had their meals. Food quality was okay but not overwhelming, my Bolognese had too much sauce. When we finally got to pay after not being able to catch the waitresses attention for over 20minutes she told us she had planned to offer us free dessert as a compensation - too little too late. One of the younger waiters was amazing and repeatedly helped us out but overall training and service provided by senior staff wasn’t sufficient. Wouldn’t return for food. Ambiente is nice so maybe go for a drink instead :)

The island No. 1 has developed into the absolute TOP address. The atmosphere at star level. The delicious food is unparalleled in the region. The sauces are exceptionally tasty. Even the bread for the salads etc. is homemade, so you have to look for a long time at the bakery to get this quality. Smaller errors in service happen, but are corrected immediately in a very nice and accommodating manner. I think that makes it even more charming and lively. I am happy about every shop or restaurant that the Pfaffenhofen an der Ilm region enhances "with such quality and willingness to continuously develop". So I got full marks for the island no. 1!

Delicious food and nice ambience. Nice service, which is unfortunately partly overwhelmed, so there are sometimes long waiting times for food, drinks and payment. In addition, guests who are seated at the same table are very likely not to eat at the same time, which absolutely should not be the case given the prices. A surcharge if you share the food is also outrageous as long as the rest does not fit.

Two stars because the food is very good. Food deserves 4 - 5 stars, unfortunately you have to subtract a few stars for the poor service. A good restaurant that lives mostly from the good and nice service. However, the service leaves a lot to be desired. At first we waited forever and then when someone came, we were lucky that we got something to eat. We were processed pretty quickly and we could be happy that we got something. We opted for an island salad for € 5.50 It is so that sometimes you get bread and then sometimes none, as they are funny right now. Then I asked for bread, but nothing was brought and nothing was said. When we paid we were told that they had run out of bread and that it was actually just a side salad and there is usually no bread. Quite expensive and a lot for a side salad. A few times before we got 4 pieces of bread, next time nothing at all. When we had everything empty there was no question. Recently I wanted to reserve outside, but it is only possible inside. I wanted to come with 10 people (during the week), all of whom ate and drank, but we were only allowed to stay two hours, so maybe we would have just finished eating. We are then somewhere else. Apparently they don't need it that much.

Food 5 stars. Service without words ... terrible service. One is ignored. Can I bring you something. Did you enjoy your meal. Nothing. A drink in two hours speaks for itself.

Food super delicious and the service very nice. Not very cheap, which is ok as far as the quality is right. However, I do not entirely agree that you have to pay a premium if you share something.

I think it's very nice there ... food has always been good. Today I only had salad, which I would not order anymore. Price performance doesn't fit with this dish in any way. But otherwise everything is fine

Have been to the island several times and since today I am actually disappointed. The waiting times have always been too long, but can no longer be tolerated. There were four of us in the island today, after two hours waiting 3 of 4 dishes came. The fourth (a lasagna) was forgotten. My pizza was wrong. After I had pointed this out, the second waiting period of another 45 minutes began until after several requests the rest of the food came. That being said, I had to wait 30 minutes for a special and another 30 minutes for the espresso at the end. All in all, it took us 3 1/2 hours for an appetizer and a pizza. Quote from my companion -Alex: If you couldn't sit so nicely, it would simply be too expensive and too bad. " Unfortunately, that hits the nail on the head. I'm an absolute fan of the location, but the service just doesn't work. I want to note that I'm usually a very relaxed guest when it comes to waiting times, but everyone on the island will probably get a few drops of sweat from waiting for anger. The dishes were satisfactory. In the end there was an espresso for all the mishaps on the house. All in all, I cannot recommend the island at the moment. I would like to try it again in a few months and of course adapt this review to what extent the service changes. 3 stars in total, 1 star deduction for unorganized service. 1 star deduction for the extremely long waiting time.

I really enjoyed a lovely pizza here with an excellent local beer. The staff were extremely friendly and spoke excellent English. The meals are huge and the contemporary styling made a very pleasant lunch.

Good food, good service, but expensive! The place looks nice and is located just a tiny bit outside the city center. It serves mainly Italian food, and they do some sort of show cooking for the pizzas. Staff is always nice. In the evening you should place a reservation to make sure you get a seat.

Top food! Especially the world champion pizzas are really worth a recommendation! Ambience nice. Only staff in places rude ... You will overlook from time to time, unfortunately.

Beautiful place

Very nice atmosphere. All age groups from 20 years represented. Very good and exquisite drinks menu for connoisseurs and connoisseurs. Food is good and plentiful. Perfect to end the evening

Wonderful pinsas. A sort of pizza with a different base and smaller but more flavorful toppings.

It is a really nice restaurant either for just having a drink at the bar or sitting down for a small or big bite ?. The atmosphere just by the Ilm River is relaxing and comfortable for adults as well as kids. There is a playground right on the Insel park. The issue I had was the fact the waitress did not serve our orders at the same time. I definitely will recommend it and go there again.
